Care for the environment is at the forefront of all RTN Ground Technology operations, a Recognised environmental management system is in place. In everything we do, we have a direct responsibility for the maintenance and management of urban and suburban spaces that affect the quality of daily life in companies and communities. Significant initiatives include reduced fossil fuel emissions, limits on energy consumption in landscape management and sourcing suppliers that support local people and the communities we operate in. Waste management presents major opportunities for environmental gain. As an example, we have already virtually eliminated the removal of green waste to landfill sites. By employing recycling at the point of generation, our clients benefit from reduced landfill fees and the composting of matured green waste for re-use on shrub beds, hedge bases and plantations. At every site, we formulate a detailed plan for handling general, green, inert and hazardous toxic waste in line with relevant legislation, regulations and local by-laws. Where waste disposal sub-contractors are used, we take responsibility for their selection, manage their performance and audit their regulatory compliance
